Connecticut Lawmakers Aim To Please Everyone With Online Gambling
Connecticut lawmakers do not intend to be left out of the online gambling explosion that is expected to take place in the US over the next decade. Connecticut has been ahead of the curve in the gaming industry, and the lawmakers pushing for regulated Internet gambling are hoping to keep it that way.In order for the legislators to get any bill through this year, however, the legislation will have to be crafted in a way that pleases many different groups. There are anti-gambling lawmakers that need to be appeased, along with legal experts, business leaders, and the two existing tribal casinos in Connecticut.”This is a major money issue and there are a lot of players involved,” said state Representative Stephen Dargan, Chairman of the Public Safety and Security Committee.Dargan understands the mountain is steep to arrive at regulated online casinos, but he also believes that the money that could be generated will outweigh the challenge. The idea that Connecticut could be a leader into an industry that is expected to bring hundreds of millions of dollars to state budgets is reason enough to fight for the regulations and tax structure.”We don’t want to sit back if there’s other competition from states around us,” said Dargan. “I think it’s important that we’re out in front. We need to look at the positives and the negatives and see if it’s good public policy.”Other states have already started that process. In recent weeks, New Jersey state Senator Raymond Lesniak has pushed an online gambling bill, and Nevada and Washington DC have passed online gambling laws last year. Iowa, Florida, new York, and Hawaii all have lawmakers that are considering proposing Internet gaming regulations in the current session. In Connecticut, a deal will have to be brokered between the state and the tribe’s that operate Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos. The tribe’s gained the rights to offer casino gambling through compacts, and if the state adds online casinos, the tribe’s would have to receive a sweetener to their current deal. Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods have exclusive rights to offer slot machines in Connecticut under their current deal. In exchange, the tribe’s pay the state a quarter of their revenue from the machines. January 23, 2012Posted By Terry GoodwinStaff Editor, CasinoGamblingWeb.comSubmit News!

Atlantic City Casino Revenues Still Plummeting Past Recession End
Even though the recession seems to be over, Atlantic City casino revenues are still on a steady decline. While much of the US is slowly returning back from the effects of the recession, casinos in Atlantic City continue to see steady decline in their revenues. According to statistics from the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, the gaming industry in Atlantic City saw income for July drop five percent from last year’s numbers.Only the Atlantic City Hilton and the Trump Taj Mahal were able to report better business this year than in 2009. Nine other casinos suffered losses from the year previous, and those figures were significantly down from 2008.Casino operators had used the national impact of the recession as a scapegoat for much of Atlantic City’s gaming trouble, but other factors continue to ravage the area’s gambling business. Increased competition in neighboring states has ended New Jersey’s exclusivity on the East Coast, and the convenience of online casinos continues to draw players in anticipation of the opening of the US gaming market.Governor Christie has proposed a state takeover of the city’s gambling district, but it is debatable whether New Jersey will be able to reverse the direction of the devastation simply through better branding and advertising.State Senator Ray Lesniak has led the way on several bold concepts designed to rescue Atlantic City’s gaming business, including challenging the federal ban on sports betting and suggesting intrastate online gambling run by AC casinos, but the measures are opposed by powerful foes both locally and nationally. In the meantime, New Jersey’s dependable cash cow seems to have gone hooves up.

Why Do You Lose to Online Casinos
Have you experienced winning a lot of money in one casino game just to lose them all in your next game? There are many online casino players who do not even get the chance to enjoy their winnings because they lose these all back to the casino. Have you ever wondered why you seem to lose to online casinos almost all of the time? You have probably wondered if it is even possible that you can win against online casinos consistently. Most online casino players wonder, “I have a fairly good strategy, why do I keep losing money?” Admittedly, a good strategy could win you a lot of money. It would have been simpler if you just withdraw your winnings after every game, but if you are like most players, you probably leave your winnings in your casino account after playing. This is where your problems usually start. Usually, online casino players would allow their winnings to accumulate. They will usually set bankroll goals and tell themselves, “I’ll withdraw the money if I already have a thousand bucks.” With a good strategy, they will find themselves slowly adding to their account balance until they finally reached their target amount. But do they withdraw the money? No. Most casino players would usually delay withdrawal of their winnings. Since they believe their strategies are working, they figure they can use their money to win more. Feeling more confident of their skills, most players would then attempt modifications of their strategies and their winnings start to dwindle. They will soon find themselves facing losses and then eventually struggling to get back their losses. This time, they’ll be unsure of their strategies, so they’d usually become careless and eventually lose to online casinos. In truth, there are actually three reasons why many people keep losing their money to online casinos. The primary reason is greed. Despite winning, most players will still find themselves being driven by greed – the desire to win more and more money. They increase their wagers to win more. Unfortunately, they usually end up losing their money. This is why it is advisable for players to place limits to their payout. When they reach the limits, they should immediately stop playing. Although there are games that are largely dependent on the player’s skills, their luck still toys with the outcome of the game. Their winning streak can only hold for so long. They need to know when and how to stop playing. Unfortunately, many players find difficulty controlling themselves and this is the second reason why many online casino players lose their winnings to online casinos. The third reason why online players lose to online casinos is that they have this stubborn and unreasonable belief that they can beat the casino all the time. What they forget is that the games have a built-in house edge. So, it is really impossible to beat the casino at all times. They can exhaust their luck, so players should know when to give up. In summary, many casino players lose their winnings to online casinos not because they lack the skills and strategies but mostly because they are greedy or they do not know when to give up. If you want to win big in online casinos, you need to set limits and you need to stop every time you reach your limit.

How to Gamble Without Addiction
November 3rd, 2009 / Posted by Suicidalsam in Gambling Addiction, General Gambling is big business, earning the gaming industry billions of dollars each year. In fact, Americans spend more money on legal gambling than they do on movie tickets, recorded music, theme parks, spectator sports and video games combined. A recent program on the Discovery Channel stated that gambling is so attractive, that when the lottery is high, ninety percent of eligible adults buy a ticket! Most people who gamble enjoy gambling as a game; its exciting and fun. And most are able to gamble without risking a gambling addiction. Just as many people can have a glass or two of wine with dinner without becoming an alcoholic, so can they buy a lottery ticket in California, visit a racetrack in Kentucky or even spend their vacation in Panama casinos without serious long-term issues. Anyone who has visited a casino knows how easy it is to feed money into the machines. Still, the occasional visit to a casino does not indicate a problem and many people are able to gamble without addiction as long as they gamble responsibly and keep several important things in mind. Set a realistic budget and stick to it Leave all your credit cards at home except one for an emergencyand losing all your cash because you fed it into the slot machine is not an emergency! This card is in case your car breaks down or you get stranded, not to get an extra $500 for the tables. Also, take only the amount of cash that you can afford to lose. Avoid temptation by not bring any cash that has already been set aside for necessities, like groceries or rent; if its in your pocket, you might be tempted to risk it. Limit or avoid alcoholIts best not to drink while you are gambling as this is a good way to lose more money than you can afford to lose. Alcohol can dull the senses and cause you to make choices that you might not otherwise make so this policy will keep you from making a stupid choice, such as taking $500 out from your credit card, for example. Set a time limit for gambling Wear a watch. The whole idea in a casino is to cause you to lose track of time and spend more money. All the flashing lights and bells from the slot machines as well as the artificial lighting are meant to give you a false sense of reality. If you wear a watch, you can tell how long it takes you to lose a certain amount of money and, if you lose what you can afford to lose in the first hour, its probably time to go home before you lose any more. People who gamble responsibly do so for entertainment and they are able to accept losses as the cost of that entertainment. They are able to balance their gambling with other activities and they do not gamble alone. If you remember these tips, you will be able to enjoy, rather than fear, your gambling experience.

Apple TVs sized from 32 to 55 inch?
More speculation abounds regarding Apple’s rumoured iTV project More rumours are now floating around about Apples alleged upcoming TV project, or iTV as it has been referred to (a name which will surely have to change). Last week, we heard speculation about how itll be rather Kinect-like in that the set will be loaded with motion sensors to allow for gesture control. Itll also have mics on board and be voice controlled via Siri technology, again much like the Xbox is with the new dashboard update and Kinect (which brings voice powered Bing search to the console). The latest buzz on the iTV comes from an Australian site, SmartHouse, whose Japanese source reckons that the Apple set will come in three different sizes. The TV range will start at 32 inches and move up to a large screen 55 inch model, with presumably a 42 or 46 inch screen in between. Possibly the latter, because we figure if Apple went for 42 theyd go up to a 50 inch model. Apparently the set will be graced with the processor which has been designed for the iPad 3, which is allegedly due out spring 2012. This gathering weight of rumours doesnt mean that the iTV will come to fruition, of course. Apple rumours are plentiful and quite often false. If the TV set does exist, though, its likely to go up against competition from Samsung and LGs smart TVs, which are continuing to evolve. The smart TV is seen as the future and theyre gaining rapidly in popularity recent figures from IC Insights estimated that 20% of televisions shipped this year were of the smart variety. And thats expected to double up to 40% or almost half the market next year. The rumours have Apples iTV slated for release in 2013 (or perhaps Christmas 2012), just as the smart TV market is really hitting its stride. It would be a good time to launch for Apple in that respect. However, the company will have to balance the launch date with the panel cost certainly given the current economic gloom, a pricey Apple set wouldnt go far.

Pappas Debates Frank Online Poker Bill on MSNBC
John Pappas spoke in favor of H.R. 2267, Barney Frank’s bill regulating online poker, in a debate on MSNBC. John Pappas, executive director of the Poker Players Alliance, appeared last week on MSNBC for a brief discussion of the bill authored by Barney Frank seeking to regulate online poker. Tim Kelly, a professor of psychology who served as executive director of the National Gambling Impact Study Commission, was on hand to speak against the bill.Pappas told the network poker players from bipartisan backgrounds have united behind Frank, as the essential issue involved in the Internet gambling debate is about freedom. He said that while Frank may not carry the support of all the PPA members in other areas, he has come to be a symbol of liberty due to this bill.Kelly wisecracked that the Internet poker bill is being brought by “the same people who brought us sub-prime mortgages,” referring to the moves by the House Financial Services Committee contributing to the mortgage meltdown. He also advanced the constant misrepresentation by gaming foes that passing 5the bill means opening a casino in every household.Pappas responded that the ban favored by Kelly and his allies has failed to meet their own criteria for rejecting online gambling. Pappas offered that “the current law protects not a single child nor a single problem gambler.”When Kelly said revenue claims from licensing online poker sites are effectively taxing the poor, Pappas corrected him, pointing out that gambling winnings are already officialy taxed, and that any new revenue would come at the excpense of overseas operators who ciurrently pay no US tax.Kelly also said the US should not be condoning gambling behavior, while Pappas returned to a Frank tenet, that there is a wide difference between government allowing its citizens freedom to choose and sanctioning the activity, the area in which personal liberty falls.

How Can You Buy Euromillions Tickets Online If Youre Already Part of an Office Pool?
September 25th, 2011 Admin One of the easier lottery strategies to follow these days is to join an office lottery pool that assumes that you work in an office, of course. While some people might not be comfortable with the idea of playing in such a group, the benefits are actually pretty huge. Instead of just relying on your buying power, you actually tap the collective groups buying power. That means more tickets, and plenty more chances to win. Yes, it does require some trust and considerations but its worth it in the end. Everyone knows its a lot faster to buy lottery tickets online, especially with the largest lottery in Europe. Indeed, Euromillions tickets online is really the way to go if you ask us for starters, you know exactly what youre getting, and you can get it from the comfort of your own home. Why bother going out when you know that you can do that. Theres no point in wasting the gas when we can think of other places to go. In every office pool, there needs to be someone taught you can trust buying the tickets. Even if you want to play online, youre going to need to be able to trust that the person going online is going to buy the right number of tickets. However, that doesnt mean that the online process is bad in any way. On the contrary thats a personal problem if you cant trust your coworkers.
